Description

The Enhanced Leverage System (ELS) – with options for a Curved, Straight or Hybrid Trigger – features dual adjustability for over-travel and pre-travel. The trigger kit reduces double-action and single-action pull weights. You will experience dramatically improved pull characteristics without changing springs or spring weight.

This system consists of our proprietary trigger options with enhanced geometry features mated to a custom-designed trigger bar. In addition, multiple drop-in options are available to tune your action for your specific requirements.

The ELS is not designed to reduce trigger reset, as different components are involved.

Enhanced Leverage System Fit Guide

You or a qualified armorer can install the Enhanced Leverage System Straight Optimized Trigger as a drop-in kit. The ELS will fit the classic P-series SIG Sauer DA/SA or DAO pistols, including:

  • P226
  • P229
  • P228

In-House Installation for P220 and P227

Do you have a DA/SA or DAO P220 or P227? We can install the ELS as an in-house service. Click here to get started.

It will not work with DAK trigger systems. The DAK references above are specific to the window frame cut, not the DAK trigger system.

System Compatibility

The ELS can only be purchased as a complete system and requires the trigger and trigger bar to function. The trigger bar is incompatible with our stand-alone P-Series Dual Adjustable Straight or Curved Triggers.

The trigger may not be fully compatible with California-compliant or similar P-series pistol models equipped with a magazine disconnector, and Grayguns urges caution. We do not recommend deactivating any mechanical safety device.

Finishes

Black Oxide – The standard finish for this product is our high-quality blued finish.

Nickel PTFE – Electroless Nickel PTFE (Teflon®) is an advanced, self-lubricating, composite coating with PTFE particles co-deposited in the electroless nickel layer. Provides a hard, uniform, self-lubricating coating for our premium aftermarket triggers.

    Cleaned up my P229 Trigger

    dshuf118 (verified owner)

I installed both the ELS and SRT in my 2011 P229. The stock trigger was not especially heavy but it was long and gritty. After 150 rounds my trigger finger was about done. After installing the ELS (straight trigger) and SRT the trigger is significantly smoother and crisper. On my Lyman trigger gauge the stock trigger was 3 lbs 13 oz SA and 8 lbs 3 oz DA. With the ELS/SRT the trigger is 2 lbs 4 oz SA and 6 lbs 5 oz DA. It’s not just the weight reduction but the feel is so much cleaner.. ELS installation took me about 30 minutes and was pretty much trouble free. I am thoroughly impressed with the Grayguns ELS/SRT combo in my P229.

This is the 2nd Grey guns trigger I have purchased, this time for my P 229, and once again am happy I did. I went with the hybrid trigger but its the mechanics and how smooth the trigger pull is now that makes it great. Extremely easy to install as well. My only problem is now i need one for my P220.

I ordered the Enhanced Leverage Sustem, the short trigger reset and the Hammer Strut and Spring upgrade. Once I viewed the online videos it was very simple to replace these parts. I did have an issue with the longer safety bar which is part of the short trigger reset kit. The slide would not go back on the frame. One phone call to Gray Guns and a replacement part was sent to me and it worked like a charm. The doible action trigger pull is both smooth and clean. The trigger reset is a major improvement over stock. The customer service I recieved is second to none. I highly recommend the parts and customer service from Gray Guns. I look forward to my next project with Gray Guns.

Installed the ELS hybrid on a P226 TacOps. The factory SRT trigger pull was 10lb and 4.25lbs. With the ELS installed, the pull is now 10.5lb and 3.75lbs. The hybrid shape is preferred over Sig’s curve. The pre-travel and over travel adjustment features are nice.

For a similar Sig (with SRT and ~4lb SA pull), I would recommend replacing only the trigger with a flat or hybrid shape, to suit one’s personal preference, and use the pre/over travel adjustments.

Kevin, I’m sorry USPS did not meet their standard of three business days for their inexpensive Ground Advantage service from us to California. It looks like it will arrive one business day late.
Your order was placed on Tuesday, May 21 at 5:51 p.m. PT (after hours). The order shipped the next day (Wednesday), and was in the hands of USPS by 3:15 p.m. PT. Normally, it would have arrived on Saturday (not guaranteed), but it looks like the package was delayed, maybe due to the holiday weekend.
We hope you’ll come back to leave a review of our SIG Enhanced Leverage System that you purchased.

The ELS along with the custom strut system has made my standard p-226 a dream to shoot. The double action is really, really smooth and even better without all the pre-travel and over travel. I already had an SRT from sig that I’m really happy with but I have no doubts that the gray guns version is also great.

Dropped right into my very old P-series frame perfectly. The adjustable trigger is a huge improvement over the stock one! I love the fact you also get to choose the trigger design. I went with the standard curved trigger, but have plenty of friends eyeing the other models. You will not miss your old trigger pull after installing this beauty.

Really reduces the Pre, and Over Travel of the trigger. Also has a better feel than the stock round trigger with the Hybrid shoe. Well worth the price. This and the custom strut trigger combined with the SRT make a sig feel about the same as a 1911.

Added the ELS straight trigger to my M11-A1. Pull weight went from 11.5/7 lbs to 7.5/5.5 lbs. The original trigger had too much curve for my liking and pinched my finger. This straight trigger is perfect. Easy install after watching video. This allowed me to keep the stock springs. Best first enhancement to add. Thanks GG

    This is a must upgrade!

    jrsuzuki79 (verified owner)

Installed the ELS and the custom strut w/19 lb spring on a MK25. As other reviewers mentioned, the upgrade made it feel like a different gun. Trigger has a lighter smoother action and the DA is consistent through the break. The trigger adjustment removed all the unnecessary play. Accuracy and grouping definitely improved. Makes me wonder why all Sigs don’t come out of the box with these kits.

I would also like to add the exceptional service the GG team provides. After the install I was experiencing light striking issues. Reached out to the customer service team and Chris, Kim and the Gunsmith were helping me diagnose the problem and had me send in my pistol. Pistol came back cleaned, lubed and firing 100%. Issue was old lube, faulty strut spring and a new safety lever. If you have any issues with the install, don’t hesitate to reach out to the team. They are very responsive and helpful. Thanks again for the above and beyond service.

    Excellence improved

    Michael Garcia (verified owner)

So a humble opinion of mine is that the SIG P226 is one of the best firearms ever invented, and the Grayguns ELS makes it even better. I have an RXP Legion DA/SA, and I opted for the Grayguns straight trigger.. The result is a lighter and smoother DA pull, and an SA trigger break that is more precise than some SIG SAOs I’ve dry fired at the gun stores. It rivals some pretty good 1911s. Even my left handed shots were good. The installation video was very helpful and the whole operation took about 30 minutes, not counting a grip screw issue. One of the most satisfying purchases I’ve made. Next stop—the hammer strut and springs. Also, a special thanks to Kim for his helpful expertise in the chat.

I installed the ELS along with the Custom strut system. I couldn’t be happier. I started with and average of 10# 9.7 oz DA pull, and 4# 3.1 oz SA pull. After install I have a 7# 12.2 oz DA pull and a 2# 6.9 oz SA pull. Easy install and makes it a high speed, comfortable pistol.

  19. bakerdavel

    P226 with a better trigger than a Shadow 2? It’s possible

    bakerdavel (verified owner)

Is it worth it? Well, I didn’t stop with just the ELS for my police surplus P226. I added the superstrut and SRT as well. Some hefty cash. However, I finally have the trigger I want in my Sig. With the hybrid installed, I have a trigger that meets or exceeds my Shadow 2. The trigger is precise and exceedingly smooth throughout the stroke. The DA is approximately 5 1/2 pounds, the SA around 2 1/2. (This is with the red 17-pound mainspring and sear spring installed with the superstrut kit.) Way better than a Legion.

Installation was easy and helped build my confidence in working on my gun. Just ran into one bump: I kept trying to adjust the pretravel in SA, but the adjustable trigger that comes with the ELS only adjusts for pretravel in double-action. To clean up the mush in single action, you need to get the SRT kit. (SRT installation tip: Use a pencil magnet to hold the sear in place to align the hole for the pin.) Getting the right tools – like a screwdriver with a notched tip to release/engage the sear spring – makes installation of parts much simpler. (While this isn’t shown in the installation video, I liberally applied TW25B grease on all metal-on-metal contact points.) I only have 150 rounds through the pistol since all the upgrades. No issues whatsoever. The gun is just a pleasure to shoot.

So is the ELS worth it? Yes, despite the high cost, if you go the full Monty and add the superstrut and SRT. You owe it to yourself to trick out at least one of your Sigs to see for yourself.

Very easy install on a Legion P226 DA/SA. I watched the video and followed along. It only took me 15 minutes to install and adjust. I’m 67 with arthritis in my hands, it made a world of difference! I also installed the the custom Strut system along with the ELS adjustable trigger. I used the 19 lb. spring.
Man that thing is as smooth as a baby’s ass! I attached a photo of the first two mags after installation. Not bad for an old guy… Zeroed RDS at 15 yards, this is free hand, I still struggle a little DA and may put the 17lb. spring in the main strut. My two bad flyers (down and to the left) are from DA.

    Unbelievable

I bought my P226 MK25 sometime in January of 2016. Awesome piece of machinery but if we are all be honest the factory trigger in these firearms are pretty terrible. They have a bunch of pre travel, over travel, and the reset takes about 3 minutes to get to. Awful. I still love this firearm and this kit from Gray Guns makes this P226 feel like an entirely different gun. I wish I possessed the vocabulary to express how amazing this trigger is. Personally I bought the Enhanced Leverage System with the flat trigger, P Series Custom Strut System, Short Reset Trigger, and the G10 Hogue grips. The parts themselves are incredibly smooth, you’ll feel the difference at the range it feels like legit butter. It was a bit annoying to install because how polished these parts are but hey it’s a fair trade. Since this kit is adjustable I have zero pre travel, zero over travel, and the reset feels like I’m clicking a mouse to a computer. Again this kit has completely changed my baby. The factory grips are nice but these G10 Hogue grips are seriously worth it. Same bulk but as factory but flat on the sides instead of rounded. The texture is strong but also nice on the body when appendix carrying. They also look bad ass. So, if you were like me and kind of on the fence of do you do it or not. The answer is yes. Do it for the gun and yourself, you will never regret it. Insane.

    Wonderful improvement

I ordered the Enhanced Lever System with the hybrid trigger, in combination with the Short Reset Trigger kit and the Custom Strut System. Installation was just as described in the YouTube video. I was never dismayed with the stock SIG trigger, but that was only because I didn’t know how much better the Gray Guns system was. The combination of these takes the pistol to another level, smooth, crisp, and perfectly adjusted. On my pistol, the stock double-action pull was 9.7 # and the single-action pull was 3.9 #. After installation of the enhanced lever system and the strut system the double-action pull is now 7.3 # and the single-action pull is 2 # (Lyman scale, average of 5 pulls). On my second trip to the range, I reduced my Bill Drill time (uncased from the table) from 3.8 sec to 3.0 sec. at 15 yds.

The trigger has as little take up as is possible, pulls smooth and clean and has absolutely zero over travel. Makes shooting a pleasure

All my Sig P2xx guns also have the GG short reset, their strut and mainspring and the heavy guide rod. I guess they are as much GG as they are Sig at this point

I bought two of these. One with the straight trigger, one with the hybrid trigger. There is definitely an improvement in trigger pull. But the hybrid one will hit the frame and wear out the finish quickly. The straight one is fine.

      Grayguns Customer Service Team

UPDATE: We heard back from Hugh the day after his review, and he noted, “Upon examining, I just realized that even though none are DAK models, one of them has the DAK cutout which could be the issue.”

As noted in our product description, it is important to check your frame to see if you have a DAK or non-DAK compatible frame. Almost certainly, the issue was ordering the non-DAK kit and installing it in a DAK frame.

We are waiting to hear back from the customer as of May 12.

      Original reply…
Hugh, This is not at all typical for the hybrid trigger. Have you contacted our customer support team in Oregon? If not, please reach out to them here.

The first of them to receive the ELS trigger was a stock run of the mill P229, which received the ELS, a fat guide rod, the SRT package, and the hammer strut. A little Lucas grease as appropriate. I may as well have had a different pistol in my hand. Night and day difference. Short stroke, smooth, extremely short reset. I was concerned about the angle of the flat trigger, and that it might sit too far forward. It is just right, no more forward than factory, with an easy, smooth press. The dual adjustment has no overtravel, and no play in the trigger when full forward for the double action pull. Trigger movement equates to immediate hammer movement. When I first pressed the trigger, I was surprised at the hammer release; the hammer cocked back faster and released sooner than anticipated; the feel is a short double action stroke, crisp break, and very short single=action reset and trigger press. I installed the 19 lb hammer spring. I ended up putting the ELS in my legion, with more to install shortly; it’s a noticeable improvement in the legion, too. Compared side by side to an unmodified pistol, one in each hand, the difference is best described as striking. I recommend the ELS, and the other components for anyone serious about their pistol.

SIG ELS system is awesome, I fitted it along with the SIG SRT and Strut for P226. These three items go together they transformed my P226. What a difference they make to an already great pistol, the fit, and finish is second to none!
    I highly recommend. these items.

***UPDATE*** the original trigger bar spring seemed to have more bend in it, so I swapped it out with a new Sig trigger bar spring which was very different. Everything is working smoothly. Also, installed the SRT, ELS and Strut Kit on a P226. Thank you to all the staff for the GREAT customer service and support, you guys are GREAT!!!

Installed the ELS on a P229 Enhanced Elite. Running into an issue with the trigger bar spring and grips. Everything runs great with the grips off, however when I install the grips, they seem to put pressure on the spring causing it to slip and lose tension. I’ve tried putting both the “stock” Sig Sauer polymer grips and a pair of Hogue G10 grips, but get the same issue. The spring appears to protrude out more and does not lay flat along the trigger bar. When I loosen the screws on the grips you can see the trigger reset when it fails….any suggestions for correcting? Would rate 5 stars once I can get this resolved and operational.

I’m beyond amazed at the difference all 3 of these GGI products made. I kept testing over and over to keep consistent trigger pull weights.

    Before
    DA- 10lb 4.0oz
    SA- 5lb 6.3oz

    After Upgrades
    DA- 6lb 14.2oz
    SA- 2lb 15.3oz

    Truly amazing and great product.

Also would like to add Chris Sweeten was amazing when I had received the wrong ELS bar because I was told my P226 was a DAK frame, but in reality never was. He made my experience that much better. Thanks Chris for shipping out the new bar as fast as you did!

First, super easy to install. There’s a Gray Guns video online now that walks you thru the process, and it’s super smooth. The adjustability of the trigger is crazy good. Second, it shipped super fast. I ordered Monday, and it was on the extreme East Coast by Wednesday. Had it installed Thursday and went shooting Friday.

I have been considering getting this trigger for a couple years now and finally decided to get it. Best decision ever!! I bought the nickel flat trigger and also got the spring kit as well since it’s only about 16$. I started with 12+ DA and 4-1/4# SA trigger pull weight. First I installed the spring kit and it dropped it to 7-1/2# DA and 3-1/2# SA. Next I installed the ELS trigger and it dropped to 5-1/2# DA and 2-1/2# SA. My p229 stainless elite shoots like an absolute dream now. Highly recommend.

The ELS transformed my P229’s unsatisfying trigger pull into a thing of beauty. Between the smoothness of the pull and the reduction in both DA and SA weights, it’s delightful. The pre-travel and over-travel adjustments are spectacular as well. It’s a pricey upgrade but one I consider money well-spent.

    Very Nice

    jclaybackus79 (verified owner)

I have loved my P226 SAO Legion since I first pulled the trigger. I wound up picking up a P229, and after deliberation, decided I wanted DA/SA and no ceracote for regular carry. I went with a 229 Equinox. (Side Note: I didn’t care for the looks of the Equinox slide up on purchase, so it got a black Pro Cut slide and a Bar-Sto SS fluted barrel – very nice looking pistol now.) I won’t lie though, I just couldn’t shoot the pistol like the 226 SAO or my other striker fired pistols – and I’m not only talking about the DA trigger pull, even my SA shooting was below my personal threshold of acceptability for a carry pistol. Very frustrating considering my love and luck shooting the P226 SAO, and considering my investment to date in the P229…..

So, in comes Gray Guns. The ELS (flat trigger), plus fat strut, has transformed my ability to shoot this pistol significantly. My DA accuracy is now on par with what my SA accuracy was – not great, but quite respectable. And, my SA accuracy is on par with my p226 SAO shooting.

The DA trigger pull is long, but smooth. I have long fingers, so no problem here, though others may feel differently. The SA trigger pull is exquisite for a DA/SA pistol in my opinion. Honestly, I am thinking that it is the flat trigger which has impacted my SA experience more than anything; pre- and over travel are dialed in near-perfectly and all of my other pistols have flat or near flat triggers, so getting away from the significant radius of the stock trigger must add up to what I needed. Once I have put another few hundred rounds down range without any hiccups, my P229 will definitely go into carry status, right where it was always meant to be.

And, then there is Gray Guns! Wow, good folks, pleasant to deal with, quick shipping and good install videos. I am pleased to give them my business.

So why 4 stars? It’s a bit pricey for what you get – the margin must be huge! But, R&D has costs. And, quality has costs. And, exclusivity has costs. And, I will spend the money again if I find myself in a similar situation. So, there’s my 2 cents on that.

I will say to anyone with an Equinox, be advise that this nickel finish is a high gloss nickel finish – it does not match the nickel finish of the Equinox line. Nor does it clash – I was worried I would not like the looks of it. So, I said to myself, good thing (my) pistols aren’t about looks! Then, I installed it and found that it looks great – no problems at all with my opinion of the looks – I love it. Having the stainless Bar-Sto barrel peaking through the Pro Cut slide, the gloss nickel trigger and the flat nickel controls works quite well in my eyes, and those of everyone who has seen it.

    Thanks Bruce and Team

Trigger is smooth and much lighter. But the reset is super long and actually worse than the factory trigger. Installed by a gunsmith i trust. Just not really impressed, especially for the cost.

[From Keith Hosey] I’m sorry that you were not impressed with the ELS kit. We guarantee all of our parts and will work hard to change your mind on this kit. We have reached out to you via email.

There might be some confusion with the parts installed. This kit does not reduce reset. This kit reduces the DA and SA pull weight. We achieved this by changing leverage points.

The short reset is achieved by swapping the sear with a short reset sear. We do sell our SRT Kit for that modification. (SIG Sauer also sells an SRT.)

These drop-in components, when paired, will give you the lightest, crispiest, and shortest resetting trigger possible. As noted, we’ve reached out via email and will work to ensure you get the trigger upgrade you’re looking for.

I purchased a P229 9mm Legion RXP. I am a man of 72 years with four surgeries on my right arm and loss of half my bicep muscle. I felt that these upgrades were essential for me on my new purchase. Gray Guns delivered after the ELS along with the Fat Strut with the 17 pound spring ended up with a 6.5#DA and a 2.75#SA. I wanted to stay with Gray Guns up grades because Sig Sauer trusts them enough to have put the SRT trigger system in the Legion line of guns. First time to the range fired over 300 rounds and could have shot more. Thank you for the great up grades smooth trigger pull. I want to add that I had ordered the wrong ELS and they exchange the right trigger bar for me. Thanks again.

The installation was easy. for the most part….hence, only challenge I had was that the triggers adjustable screw had a good amount to lock tight put on them; thus I had spend some time loosening them up before full installation and ajustments. That aside, the feel is awesome. However, you will be doing yourself injustice if you do not get their STR as well. The two….a Home Run!

I now have 3 P seies SIGS with the ELS installed. The trigger pull is much smoother, feels lighter, though I don’t know why, I run 19lb springs to ensure reliable ignition. The hybrid trigger suits me very well, and the overall effect is remarkable. I know it’s not inexpensive but if you include the P Series Fat Custom Strut System, you will have a gun that feels like a full house trigger job has been done on it, without compromising reliability. These systems are well designed, well manufactured and well worth the price.

Fantastic upgrade. I’ve had my Sig Sauer P226 DA/SA Legion for a few years and wanted a flat trigger. When I learned the original trigger on my Legion was from GRAYGUNS, The installation of the Sig P-Series ELS with flat trigger was pretty simple. There are YouTube videos showing the process step by step. I love that the trigger is adjustable and the most noticeable difference is the lack of slack on the double action and the almost non-existent reset (it’s that good!). I went to the range with a friend who has the same Sig Sauer P226 DA/SA and we both shot much better with my upgraded pistol vs. his. He had never shot with my pistol, by the way. The groupings were closer and more on target at any distance we tested. Worth every penny!

I’ve installed several ELS kits into my P226/P229 SIGs. It’s a real transformation of the gun. Sure, it’s a lighter pull, but the smoothness of the trigger pull is the real impressive change. It allows me to be more accurate, and the weapon is much more responsive. I have my adjustable trigger set to be exactly where I want it, eliminating any unwanted travel. It’s so, so good. This is probably the single best upgrade I’ve ever made to ANY gun.

I have a few flat trigger versions but this last purchase I opted for the hybrid trigger. I wish I’d have tried it sooner. Ergonomics are perfect for me. While I’ve installed a few of these now, it’s a very straightforward process if you have basic mechanical skills.

    Buy with confidence.

Shipping was next business day and it arrived in three days via USPS.
I wanted to improve trigger pull and overall performance, so went with the ELS with the Hybrid trigger just for variety. In addition, also added a Short Reset Trigger.
Took it to a local Sig armorer who did the install in about an hour.
I like flat triggers, but for a carry pistol I like the effortless index with the Hybrid.
Trigger pull is notably easier with the ELS and the SA trigger break is….SURPRISE! Without putting a guage on it, I’m pretty sure its at or under 4 lbs. Sweet.

I installed the Gray Guns SIG P-Series ELS flat trigger and SIG P-Series Fat Custom Strut on my older model P229.

I had previously installed the Sig SRT kit, but the trigger pull in SA and DA still left a lot to be desired.

After installing the GG kits, the difference is day and night. I haven’t measured the pull weights but the DA is now as smooth as a Colt Python and the single action is as good as any of my highly modified Glocks.

I was able to install the items in about 45 minutes after watching a few videos, which fortunately, included information about how to adjust the trigger pre and over travel. It would be useful if GG could include this info in the package.

As usual, great products from GG.

    The little things

    LyleHawkyard13 (verified owner)

I have now had the opportunity to try out both the straight and hybrid triggers in the ELS. Both are incredible improvements over stock. Even if you aren’t looking to improve trigger functionality this system is an improvement over stock just because of the way it fills the trigger guard. The stock trigger, especially the short reach trigger, has a tendency to want to bite the finger. Not this model, both styles fill the trigger guard so completely that comfort is through the roof.

Which do you want? Well I’m no expert, I just play one on the internet but it depends which you prefer. For me, the straight trigger was superior for bullseye shooting where you are putting the girl in single action and squeezing off those perfect hits. The hybrid trigger is more, again my opinion, of an action trigger where it just guides your finger to the sweet spot, especially in double action.
Whichever you choose, buy in confidence that both are phenomenal.

So easy to install and what a difference! Stock P226 MK25 DA is brutal. I personally like to leave DA as first shot in defense situation since I want to be 100% sure of my intent instead of hair trigger in SA. With ELS trigger and FAT strut upgrade, DA is just right – not too heavy, not too light and oh so smooth. In SA, this is easily competition grade trigger (assuming you have SRT). BTW, if your locking insert doesn’t fit perfectly straight to the holes in the frame, your pre-travel reduction is too much.

SIG P-Series ELS (Enhanced Leverage System) and other Gray Guns kits are AWESOME!

    Derry Mellott (verified owner)

I installed the Gray Guns SIG P-Series ELS, along with the Grayguns Short Reset Trigger (SRT) Kit and the SIG P-Series Fat Custom Strut System and the Custom Fat Super Black Guide Rod in my non-DAK Sig P-226 [.40 S&W]. I used Sig Factory Springs for the Transfer Bar and Decocker and Recoil Spring, but used Gray Guns Sear Spring and the 17 lb Hammer Spring. First, both SA and DA trigger pulls are now glassy smooth. My DA trigger pull is dramatically reduced to about 11 lbs, per Timney Trigger Pull Gauge, but is so smooth it feels like 6lbs. My SA pull is now 3.75 lbs, per Timney Trigger Pull Gauge, breaks crisply and the Short Reset is right where I want it to be. These Gray Guns parts and kits transformed my P-226 from trigger pulls that just about caused me to “break a sweat” to a pistol that is a dream to shoot! At my shooting range one of the SRO’s I asked to check it out said my pistol has the best trigger pull he’s ever experienced on a SIG pistol. He’s a GLOCK Armorer and was really impressed. I have owned this pistol for several years and always had a “Love/Hate” relationship with it. Shot well, but was a pain to shoot. When I say, “Thank-you, Bruce Gray!” it seems a little inadequate and this effusive review may seem a bit contrived or disingenuous, but I am just a person who found Gray Guns via other articles written about the SIG P-series, took a look and decided to give Gray Guns Products a try. I am astonished and pleased by the results I obtained and wholeheartedly recommend Gray Guns after market products to anyone else. The value is well beyond the price and THAT is a rare thing these days.

    Gray trigger, Graytter shooting!

Swapped out my Sig P229 (CA compliant) SRT (great trigger but wanted a crisper straight trigger). During dry fire, the Single action wouldn’t sometimes fire or lag fire. (Maybe that was my adjusting or not enough “recoil power”) However during live firing, DA/SA, no miss fires , no problems and follow ups were on point. Trigger pulls were lighter and tighter. Took me about an hr to install. Trigger bar was the trickiest but easy. Big props to Keith on IG for helping select and figure for me out what’s best within the Gray Gun family! Happy shooting!

Note: When installing ELS to a CA compliant Sig your magazine disconnect safety will no longer work but you don’t need to removed the safety itself to install the ELS.

    Transformative.

P226R 40S&W, accurate with the usual crunch/stacky SIG DA trigger. SIG Short Trigger and SRT previously installed.

Grayguns ELS with Hybrid Trigger was added, along with Grayguns Fat Custom Strut with the Master Spring Set.
The combination nearly negating the DA pull difference in combat scenarios.

Being old and old school I went hybrid and I’m glad I did.
    Zero learning curve.
The change from SIG’s Short Trigger to the Grayguns Hybrid was a non-issue.
    Well worth the money.

    ELS

As a certified armorer Prior to installing I did a quick action job. I already had a factory SRT installed. I purchased the kit with a 19lb hammer spring. After installing the kit I can’t say it made a huge difference.. Although I do like the hybrid trigger I don’t feel the trigger bar is worth an extra $90.00. For the cost and mild improvement, I am going to have to give three stars.

Hybrid - Great for L/XL hands

I’m a big fan of GGI products. All of my SIGs (P228R, P229, P226NSWG, and P220C) have the original PSAIT single adjustment trigger installed with factory springs. I have run GGI and Wolff reduced power springs in the past and never had a misfire, even down to 17lbs. While the pull is lighter, I prefer the factory weight springs for decreased lock time when shooting at distance.

The feel of the hybrid trigger face is much better than the SIG factory long, SIG factory short, GGI flat or curved adjustable. I have owned and used each of those in the past.

The fit and finish are first rate. Thanks for taking the time to make a great product even better. Now if you guys could get to work on the 8mm adj triggers for the older 220, 239, and 228……..that would be awesome.

Insane performance from a DIY trigger job!

    cmndrred (verified owner)

I wanted to improve my Sig P229 .40 S&W so I started with the GrayGuns ELS system to lighten and tighten the trigger pull. I made a mistake and ordered the incorrect version (non-DAK), and GrayGuns was great about swapping that out for me, so initial service was stellar. I decided to add the SRT kit, and the combined effect was incredible…like a custom job! Smooth as glass, clean break, no over-travel, crisp reset, and DA/SA pull weights of <6 lbs and < 3 lbs respectively…actually close to 2.7 lbs in SA. I even calibrated my trigger scale because I could hardly believe the results. Faster, tighter groups (especially transitioning DA to SA), and just more fun to shoot! I'm a DIYer and was able to do all the work myself with just weekend-warrior tinkering skills and a few YouTube videos, so there's some satisfaction there too. Not cheap, but worth every penny with such a dramatic and immediate impact. Over 1500 rounds through it so far, with zero issues…flawless! And again, GrayGuns service was five star throughout.

    Love it!

Installed the Enhanced leverage system on my P229 Legion along with the P Series Custom Strut so I’m not sure what made the biggest difference. This dropped the DA and SA trigger pulls considerably. My DA measures just under 8# and SA averages 3# with the 19# main spring.. The trigger also is smoother. I was concerned I might have light primer strikes but have very solid hits. 100 reliability so far. I’m very pleased with both of these products.

    P229 ELS

    babue7359 (verified owner)

Amazing results for a drop in kit. I wanted to lighten the double action pull but the cost of shipping a firearm back and forth kept me from sending the gun off. The ELS kit lighted the double action pull and smoothed it up. I do not have a gauge but the original pull felt like 12 pounds and adding the ELS kit and a 19 pound spring, I also bought from Gray Guns, dropped it to what feels like 9 pounds.
The single action pull also was improved but that was not the reason to add the kit, just a side benefit.
Well worth the money for the results.

    P226 ELS System

    wcaruthers (verified owner)

I have a mid 80s German manufactured P226 that is a beloved member of my collection. I was looking for a way to mitigate first shot DA pull without impacting the stone cold reliability this firearm has always demonstrated. I have been aware of Grayguns products and saw the new ELS trigger system. Finally came my turn on the wait list and purchased it. The install went fairly smoothly with some excellent coaching by Dennis and Keith that I am grateful for. Ran about 300 rounds with the new system and it has been everything i could have wished for. Easier first round DA pull, fast resets with no degradation in reliability that I can observe.

It was everything I could wish for. The product quality is exceptional.
