Our P-Series Enhanced Leverage System (ELS) is designed explicitly for SIG Sauer Classic P-Series DA/SA or DAO pistols (not DAK). Fits the P226, P229 and P228. See below for details, including compatibility for the P220 and P227.
The ELS reduces DA and SA pull weights with dramatically improved pull characteristics.
It consists of our Curved, Straight or Hybrid Trigger – with dual adjustability for over-travel and DA pre-travel – mated to an enhanced, Custom-Designed Trigger Bar.

Description
The Enhanced Leverage System (ELS) – with options for a Curved, Straight or Hybrid Trigger – features dual adjustability for over-travel and double action pre-travel. The trigger kit reduces double-action and single-action pull weights. You will experience dramatically improved pull characteristics without changing springs or spring weight.
This system consists of our proprietary trigger options with enhanced geometry features mated to a custom-designed trigger bar. In addition, multiple drop-in options are available to tune your action for your specific requirements.
The ELS is not designed to reduce trigger reset, as different components are involved.
Enhanced Leverage System Fit Guide
You or a qualified armorer can install the Enhanced Leverage System Straight Optimized Trigger as a drop-in kit. The ELS will fit the classic P-series SIG Sauer DA/SA or DAO pistols, including:
- P226
- P229
- P228
Important Note – P226 XFIVE Legion:
When installing these components in the P226 XFIVE Legion, the Enhanced Leverage System, P-Series Custom Strut System, and P-Series Modern Classic Hammer must be installed together as a complete system. These parts are engineered to work in combination on the XFIVE Legion platform and will not function properly if installed individually.

This kit will not work with DAK trigger systems. The DAK references above are specific to the window frame cut, not the DAK trigger system.
System Compatibility
The ELS can only be purchased as a complete system and requires the trigger and trigger bar to function. The trigger bar is incompatible with our stand-alone P-Series Dual Adjustable Straight or Curved Triggers.
The trigger may not be fully compatible with California-compliant or similar P-series pistol models equipped with a magazine disconnector, and Grayguns urges caution. We do not recommend deactivating any mechanical safety device.
Finishes
Black Oxide – The standard finish for this product is our high-quality blued finish.
Nickel PTFE – Electroless Nickel PTFE (Teflon®) is an advanced, self-lubricating, composite coating with PTFE particles co-deposited in the electroless nickel layer. Provides a hard, uniform, self-lubricating coating for our premium aftermarket triggers.
Enhanced Leverage System Technical Specifications
The Grayguns proprietary enhanced leverage geometry reduces pull weight by approximately 25 percent without compromising reliability or factory safety values
We micro-polish each enhanced-geometry trigger bar for superior smoothness and perfectly timed function.
Engineered to provide several key benefits:
- Reduces the pull weight of double and single action without spring replacements.
- Adjustable over-travel screw to fine-tune and reduce over-travel
- Adjustable pre-travel screw to fine-tune and reduce pre-travel
- Maintains all factory safety functions.
Grayguns uses precision-cut heat-treated tool steel, and the kit is 100 percent American-made. We hand-finished each part to ensure the quality you have come to expect from Grayguns.

Due to different window frame cuts, you must inspect the frame of your P226, P229, or P228 DA/SA pistol to determine which version to order.

Nice reduction in DA pull, especially when paired with the fat strut. The adjustable trigger is another huge improvement over stock (MK25 in this case).
Works great. Drastic reduction in trigger pull on DA and SA.
Major improvement. The hybrid trigger alone is worthwhile, but the dual adjustability seals the deal. Along with a short reset kit, this truly does make my early 2000s P226 feel like a different (better) gun. Faster follow-ups with no loss of precision. Kudos to GrayGuns for including the non-DAK compatible variant of the system for those of us with older guns. Fast to ship and perfect fit.
Huge improvement in take up, creep, DA and SA pull from factory original parts on an early 90’s 226. Paired with the short reset sear and custom strut, feels like a different gun!
