Description
The custom-designed Grayguns Short Reset Trigger (SRT) Kit incorporates a custom safety lever that provides a smooth, short action reset in a drop-in kit.
The kit reduces the trigger reset travel by about 70 percent* when using one of our dual adjustable triggers (Straight or Curved). The system allows for faster reset times and is easy to install, requiring no gunsmithing.
The unique part of this kit is the Bruce Gray designed custom sear. The kit features a sear made from bar-stock steel. Each sear is classically machined, painstakingly cut and inspected. The sear is hand-finished for the best engagement angle and release with the factory hammer.
The part is heat treated and stoned to provide a very smooth surface. We follow up with a baked-in nickel PTFE coating for a smooth release and outstanding durability.
User feedback indicates many shooters find their follow-up shots are quicker and more accurate with the Grayguns SRT installed in their SIG DA/SA pistols. (See our Fit Guide below.)

* The reset amount will vary depending on the starting point of the trigger. The 70 percent reduction is a comparison to the stock, non-SRT factory configurations and measured with one of our dual adjustable triggers installed. We provide 19-pound mainsprings in this kit as they are appropriate for self-defense applications.
The second mainspring is a value-add, as we suggest replacing these springs at about 5,000 rounds.

This SRT kit is exactly what I needed to turn my MK25 trigger into the SRT that resets flawlessly
Crisp and almost instant reset. Wish Sig included these as the new standard equipment.
I installed this on my P226 Nitron. The reset is much better than it was before installing the upgrade. Very happy with the results. The original safety lever I received did not properly fit in my P226 and didn’t let me reinstall the slide. After contacting Grayguns, they promptly sent me a replacement that fit perfectly. Aside from that the installation was quick and simple.
Unfortunately, in my rush to get this kit installed, I neglected to perform a pre-install measurement of the trigger reset. However, after installation of the kit, the trigger reset measures a miniscule 1.45 mm (as best as can be measured using an electronic caliper). A P-Series dual adjustable trigger was installed at the same time (separate review) and may contribute to this measurement due to slightly reduced overtravel. Great job on this kit Grayguns
Installing the short reset trigger kit in my used P229 was straightforward and relatively simple. The safety lever did not fit quite well enough to reinstall the slide, but a call to Miles at Grayguns got a modified lever sent to me. It dropped right in and the slide slid right on. Reset was long and creepy with the stock parts. With the Grayguns kit reset is short (couple of mm) and crisp. I’m thoroughly satisfied.
I have a P226 Legion which already had the SRT but came with MIM sear and hammer so I ordered this kit and installed the sear and safety. It made an already short reset even shorter and the sear combined with the AC skeleton hammer made for a slightly lighter but much more crisp SA trigger pull. The trigger pull bith DA a d SA is noticeably smoother. I highly recommend this set for any classic P series Sig
The reset was basically perfect with the stock trigger and with a overtravel screw it basically resets with any visible amount of movement. After reading some reviews I was worried the single action pull would be worse but it’s even more crisp than before and there’s no creep at all.

Just purchased and installed my third GrayGuns SRT kit. Excellent results. The nickel boron coating on tool steel adds lubricity that the oem kit does not have. Smooth crisp release and reset. My first install was an oem kit. GG is notably better. Add the 19# spring included and on your way to an improved trigger. Also Added the FAT strut kit on this P229 and WOW! Near perfection.
Note: sear is so slippery it is hard to hold onto.To install. I use a qtip in the spring slot to hold and works great. I see another suggests a magnet. Both work
Recently purchased and installed GrayGuns 1) Short Reset Trigger Kit, 2) Custom Strut System, 3) Modern Classic Hammer, and 4) Dual Adjustable Curved Trigger on my P220 DASA Sig Legion. Bench testing on five group averages showed the DA went from 9lb-1.6oz to 8lb-1.5oz — the SA went from 4lb 8.2oz to 2lb-5.8oz. Actual shooting results were unbelievable. The P220 now feels like a totally new machine. I think it will far outshoot any of the 45s I currently own, and (ignoring magazine capacity issues) is probably going to be my favorite 45 to shoot ……. This includes an FNX, FN545, P220 SAO, and several 1911s. In my eyes, whoever designed and built these changes are currently on a pedestal up in the clouds next to the big guy himself (JMB).
Another flawlessly finished part from Grayguns – This upgrade is a thoughtful and well-executed addition that will leave you wondering why Sig didn’t include it right out of the box. The comically long reset in my P-series is gone and has been replaced with a reset appropriate for all scenarios.
