Description
Our custom Grayguns P226 magazine base pads are manufactured from 6061 Aluminum, professionally finished with MIL-A-8625 Type III anodized coating. They have a flat-black finish after going through a glass-beading process.
You can use these base pads with either the  OEM 9mm SIG (V1) or 9mm Mec-Gar 18-round (V2) magazines.
A relief cut on the sides enhances malfunction drills and allows effective one-handed reloads using the belt or holster.
Each pad features a numbering matrix and area to scribe your name.

Great product, great service!
Just don’t choose USPS shipping! It took them a week to deliver a letter sized envelope from Oregon to Nevada! Pony Express would have been faster!!!

Thank you for the comment. We’re sorry about the USPS delay. Ground Advantage usually takes three days to get from our location to your location. In this case, USPS GA delivered in five days. Your order was placed on Friday afternoon, and we shipped on Monday. Enjoy the base pads, and let us know if you need anything else!

I could not tell from the pictures how much purchase the pad was going to provide for stripping a mag from the gun. The pad does a very good job of that. The pad is not bulky but provides all the purchase you would need to strip a mag if there was a problem. It is now on my EDC mag. I think it is important to be able to strip the mag from the gun in an emergency situation. The factory mags just do not have that ability. I would recommend it to anyone to use on the mag they will have in their gun as the everyday mag.

Highly appreciate the machining, weight, and flush fit of these base pads. I finally saved up for the P226 Legion and didn’t prefer the stock magazine pads. A friend recommended these and they add a great element of class to an already excellent pistol series. Thank you for offering these!

I got 3 of these Sig OEM base plates and they fit great on my OEM factory P226 magazines. I also confirmed as Grayguns advised that the Sig OEM plates don’t fit well on the P226 Mec-Gar (Made in Italy) magazines. I’ll be getting more of the base plates in both the Sig OEM and the Sig Mec-Gar options. A great upgrade for looks, fit and function.

Swapped out three base pads for my P226 Legion DA/SA. Great fit, snug to magwell, and look absolutely slick. Big fan.

I have a 2009 MK25 with 3 OEM 15 rnd magazines stamped ‘made in the USA’ and with US patent numbers.
The base pads fits well on the magazine body but the hole is too small for the catch by a large margin.
The aluminum material allows for a clean and easy fix by incrementally drilling the hole to a final diameter of 13/64″ bu that is probably more work than some people will tolerate.
These may fit a newer P226 Legion (as pictured above) but not a legacy MK25. My p229 Legion magazine catch hole appears to be the same size as my MK25 but we’re talking apples and oranges now.
I’d give them 5 stars because they are mighty pretty on the gun but 3 stars for the extra work.

This is unusual. We wish you had contacted us before drilling, as we have not seen this before. It could have been an issue with the base pad or a different base plate we have not seen. In short, there generally isn’t a fit issue with that model pistol. We have reached out to you via email to discuss this.

I just attached 3 of them to my magazines (tried all permutations) and the magazine will not lock into the gun, i.e. they are unusable. The tolerances are obviously incorrect.

Unfortunately, Paul ordered the incorrect magazine base pads for his P226. There are Italian and USA-made magazines and they are different. The issue is now resolved, and we hope he will consider revising his review. Nevertheless, please ensure you order the correct base pads for your magazine, especially if you plan on having them custom engraved.

Perfect fit for the P226 and a definite improvement. I didn’t like the way the factory steel base pads stuck out. I never got pinched but I could always feel them on my pinky which was a little annoying. The Grayguns base pads took care of that problem plus they look great. Would definitely recommend and buy again.
If there was one suggestion I would make to Grayguns, it would be to make these available in different colors to match Legions and other models.

I had stopped using my stock magazines after one pinched my palm and blood blistered, and had been only using my Mec-gar’s. These changed all that, they work perfectly, no more pinching, and they can be stripped out if there is a jam (If it ever jams). Now I favor the stock magazines and can load up all six before going to the range, league, or IDPA.

WOW! What an upgrade. Mine were installed on a Legion P226 exactly as shown in your web page photo. These base pads are light years ahead of the older metal base pads on the Sig magazines that came with my Legion.
