Just a basic upgrade for my German P226. Of course it fit flawlessly!
The “just right” recoil spring. When a .40 spring is too much but you want more than the pretty soft 9mm spring, this is the ticket. Much better control of +P or NATO ammo but still operated suppressed on 147gr powderpuff ammo.
Long story (Story can be read on Sig Talk – See link below) but I upgraded a SigP226 and had some fairly hardcore Jamming issues. I replaced the Aftermarket Guide Rod I had previously placed in my 226 with the Gray Guns Fat Guide Rod and Pink Spring. It was absolutely a spectacular experience and the Pink Spring ran like a champ and got my P226 up and running again with no Jams at the Range.
For the price of the Pink Spring compared to its performance, its a steal, like act now, seriousness… I cant imagine you will be disappointed. Sig Talk story reference posted above.
I was not sure if I was going to like the springs until I gained some experience with them. I was running a wolff springs 18lbs on my p226 based off of load but found myself running 9mm 150gr Federal Syntech ammo for steel on most local matches. Small instances of stovepipe issues with the heavier Wolff spring I was using. These springs cycled perfectly and gave me what I was hoping for in terms of reliability. I was running 18lbs springs prior when firing major PF loads but these works much better with the syntech. I am assuming these fall in the 17lbs range considering the slightly ease of slide cycling but ask the Grayguns team for that info.
