HK P30 (with Safety) Short Reset System
$90.00
Our HK P30 Short Reset System replicates our custom in-house short reset conversion with a drop-in kit for your pistol. These kits are cut from bar stock steel and provide an exacting fit for easy installation.
It shortens the reset travel distance by about one-third, reduces trigger over-travel, and reduces pull weight while maintaining all factory safety functions.
This kit is specific to the HK P30 model with thumb safety, including DA/SA and LEM variations. Review our Fit Guide below.
Description
The HK P30 Short Reset System should be an easy installation for those familiar with the HL P30 trigger mechanism.
The control latch is precisely wire cut EDM from ground bar stock to exacting tolerances. Properly heat-treated and coated in a durable nickel PTFE finish for a lifetime of durability and smooth function.
Engineered to provide several benefits:
- Shortens trigger reset travel distance by approximately 33 percent
- The kit converts the action to drive the sear directly off the control latch – instead of transferring energy through the catch – for a direct drive connection between the control latch and sear
- Reduced trigger over travel values
- Maintains all factory safety functions
- The system works with both DA/SA and LEM variants
- Included Grayguns Firing Pin Block Spring reduces stacking in DA pull and lightens trigger pull
Parts Included in Kit
Install all parts, including the extended sear roll pin, as the parts are designed to be installed together.
- Custom-designed Grayguns Control Latch
- Custom replacement Firing Pin Block Spring

After install I could see the difference physically and was moderately impressed. I took it to the range today and put 34 rounds through. It shot like my P30LS, but much better. Honestly it immediately made me a slightly better shooter (and I’ll take any advantage I can). At times the reset felt nonexistent. Great product!

When I first shot a P30LS I knew I had to have one. The only issue I had was with the terribly long reset. This kit changed the P30LS reset to about 1/3 of what it originally was. The kit includes the reduced power Firing Pin Safety spring. I really didn’t notice the difference in the pull weight after installing that spring. Installation is fairly straight forward you can find some videos on Youtube that has basic instructions. If you’re not familiar with the internal parts or if you don’t feel comfortable I would have a gunsmith install the kit.

I just put my first few hundred rounds through this trigger on my HK P30l. Absolute tack driver. Much easier to find the the wall and have a short reset than the stock trigger. I had a gun smith install this with no problems. The flat trigger seems like it sticks out too far, but when it’s pressed it goes to a straight 90⁰. I think this squeezes even more performance out of a great gun.

The reset is now spectacular. It’s how it should’ve come from HK. The description says about 30% less travel on the reset but it seems way better. The travel back to the reset is lessened but once it resets you’re immediately on the wall to pop off a second round. It’s really good.
I’ve heard some clowns on HKPro say some silly stuff like “this isn’t a race gun, it’s a combat weapon and HK meant for the reset to be this way”. Hogwash. HK does a lot of things good but the stock P30 trigger is not one of those things. This is addressed by GrayGuns. If you’re letting your HK P30 sit in a lonesome spot in the back of your gun safe because you can’t bring yourself to selling a nice gun but also can’t get past the lousy trigger, then fix it with this SRS. You won’t regret it.

If your looking at this product your probably unhappy with the P30 trigger reset, I installed this kit on my P30L using the whole kit as recommended and it makes a night and day difference the trigger is now much more like my VP9. If your mechanical it’s an easy install.
I highly recommend it.

A bit pricey as has been stated before, but it does what it says it’s supposed to. Reset is 1/3+ shorter. Lack of instructions and any sort of product descriptive assistance, may be a little helpful. However, they do state that it is highly suggested that a gunsmith perform the job. It wasn’t difficult, the longer sear pin was the biggest issue, as it wasn’t identified. But good old YouTube saved the day. Love it.
Kind of a bummer that I paid $99+ and it’s now on sale for $85? AND… I didn’t get my military discount 🙁
