The SIG Sauer® P365 X-Macro backstrap from Taylor Freelance features checkering for additional grip. Adding this heavy brass backstrap lowers the balance and adds weight to reduce recoil. The brass backstrap makes follow-up shots easier, improving accuracy.
Finished in Black Cerakote®.
Description
This Taylor Freelance backstrap for the X-Macro features additional checkering and more weight than the OEM and other aftermarket backstraps.
The size of the backstrap is similar to the OEM medium version. It weighs about 3.45 ounces. (The P365 X-Macro with factory-supplied backstrap weighs in at 22 ounces, unloaded.)
P365 X-Macro Backstrap Features
- Machined from bar stock H02 Brass
- High-traction checkering cut into each piece (not cast) for maximum “grip” and control
- It lowers the center of gravity for better balance, calmer handling and makes the gun less top-heavy
Weight and felt recoil are directly related. A lightweight gun calms down by adding weight, creating a smoother-shooting, slower-kicking, more-neutrally-balanced handgun. Brass is best in most situations, but if you carry the gun all day, you may find brass components add weight and are less comfortable for all-day carry.

I bought this Taylor Freelance black cerakote brass backstrap for my new Sig P365 build, using a new black Grayguns X-Macro grip module and Radian Ramjet Afterburner for my shorty P3655 slide. Without the brass back-strap, my pistol felt a little front-heavy and unbalanced. This makes the whole firearm feel more natural and balanced. It shot great this weekend – better than when it was a std P365 with short Wilson grip and 12 round mags! It also looks great, fit and finish is good, and the texture is perfect for my grip. I don’t even want to try shooting the new build with the weightless original plastic back-strap. I added a Holosun 507K optic and Olight Baldr S light/laser combo without disturbing the balance; and I’m shooting 1″ five shot groups at 7 yards now!
The brass backstrap adds just the right amount of weight to the X-Macro. I found the recoil to be less and the gun easier to control. It now shots very similar to my P320 RXP. Good enhancement.
A must-have accessory for your X-Macro grip module, this backstrap has exceptional texture and manufacturing quality. Its snug fit onto the grip module surpasses that of the SIG backstrap, providing a secure and comfortable grip. The additional weight balances the X-Macro, better mitigating felt recoil. I can also confirm its compatibility with the Sig magazine funnel.
Must have option for your p365 x macro, the added weight is perfect balances handgun so sits level in your hand, and texture is just right far better than the stock sig backstrap. Well made product fit and finish is excellent no gaps and good snug fit.
