Description

The Enhanced Leverage System (ELS) – with options for a Curved, Straight or Hybrid Trigger – features dual adjustability for over-travel and pre-travel. The trigger kit reduces double-action and single-action pull weights. You will experience dramatically improved pull characteristics without changing springs or spring weight.

This system consists of our proprietary trigger options with enhanced geometry features mated to a custom-designed trigger bar. In addition, multiple drop-in options are available to tune your action for your specific requirements.

The ELS is not designed to reduce trigger reset, as different components are involved.

Enhanced Leverage System Fit Guide

You or a qualified armorer can install the Enhanced Leverage System Straight Optimized Trigger as a drop-in kit. The ELS will fit the classic P-series SIG Sauer DA/SA or DAO pistols, including:

  • P226
  • P229
  • P228

In-House Installation for P220 and P227

Do you have a DA/SA or DAO P220 or P227? We can install the ELS as an in-house service. Click here to get started.

It will not work with DAK trigger systems. The DAK references above are specific to the window frame cut, not the DAK trigger system.

System Compatibility

The ELS can only be purchased as a complete system and requires the trigger and trigger bar to function. The trigger bar is incompatible with our stand-alone P-Series Dual Adjustable Straight or Curved Triggers.

The trigger may not be fully compatible with California-compliant or similar P-series pistol models equipped with a magazine disconnector, and Grayguns urges caution. We do not recommend deactivating any mechanical safety device.

Finishes

Black Oxide – The standard finish for this product is our high-quality blued finish.

Nickel PTFE – Electroless Nickel PTFE (Teflon®) is an advanced, self-lubricating, composite coating with PTFE particles co-deposited in the electroless nickel layer. Provides a hard, uniform, self-lubricating coating for our premium aftermarket triggers.

    Very Nice

I have loved my P226 SAO Legion since I first pulled the trigger. I wound up picking up a P229, and after deliberation, decided I wanted DA/SA and no ceracote for regular carry. I went with a 229 Equinox. (Side Note: I didn’t care for the looks of the Equinox slide up on purchase, so it got a black Pro Cut slide and a Bar-Sto SS fluted barrel – very nice looking pistol now.) I won’t lie though, I just couldn’t shoot the pistol like the 226 SAO or my other striker fired pistols – and I’m not only talking about the DA trigger pull, even my SA shooting was below my personal threshold of acceptability for a carry pistol. Very frustrating considering my love and luck shooting the P226 SAO, and considering my investment to date in the P229…..

So, in comes Gray Guns. The ELS (flat trigger), plus fat strut, has transformed my ability to shoot this pistol significantly. My DA accuracy is now on par with what my SA accuracy was – not great, but quite respectable. And, my SA accuracy is on par with my p226 SAO shooting.

The DA trigger pull is long, but smooth. I have long fingers, so no problem here, though others may feel differently. The SA trigger pull is exquisite for a DA/SA pistol in my opinion. Honestly, I am thinking that it is the flat trigger which has impacted my SA experience more than anything; pre- and over travel are dialed in near-perfectly and all of my other pistols have flat or near flat triggers, so getting away from the significant radius of the stock trigger must add up to what I needed. Once I have put another few hundred rounds down range without any hiccups, my P229 will definitely go into carry status, right where it was always meant to be.

And, then there is Gray Guns! Wow, good folks, pleasant to deal with, quick shipping and good install videos. I am pleased to give them my business.

So why 4 stars? It’s a bit pricey for what you get – the margin must be huge! But, R&D has costs. And, quality has costs. And, exclusivity has costs. And, I will spend the money again if I find myself in a similar situation. So, there’s my 2 cents on that.

I will say to anyone with an Equinox, be advise that this nickel finish is a high gloss nickel finish – it does not match the nickel finish of the Equinox line. Nor does it clash – I was worried I would not like the looks of it. So, I said to myself, good thing (my) pistols aren’t about looks! Then, I installed it and found that it looks great – no problems at all with my opinion of the looks – I love it. Having the stainless Bar-Sto barrel peaking through the Pro Cut slide, the gloss nickel trigger and the flat nickel controls works quite well in my eyes, and those of everyone who has seen it.

    Thanks Bruce and Team

    Gray trigger, Graytter shooting!

    brentwong625 (verified owner)

Swapped out my Sig P229 (CA compliant) SRT (great trigger but wanted a crisper straight trigger). During dry fire, the Single action wouldn’t sometimes fire or lag fire. (Maybe that was my adjusting or not enough “recoil power”) However during live firing, DA/SA, no miss fires , no problems and follow ups were on point. Trigger pulls were lighter and tighter. Took me about an hr to install. Trigger bar was the trickiest but easy. Big props to Keith on IG for helping select and figure for me out what’s best within the Gray Gun family! Happy shooting!

Note: When installing ELS to a CA compliant Sig your magazine disconnect safety will no longer work but you don’t need to removed the safety itself to install the ELS.
