This kit specifically requires a P320 that has undergone SIG Sauer’s Voluntary Upgrade Program. It does not fit pre-upgrade fire control units.

Does the P320 need a tabbed trigger?

The short answer is no, and we want to be upfront about that. Other striker-fired platforms developed tab-and-locking triggers specifically to pass drop-safety testing required by those designs. The P320, however, is different.

SIG Sauer® engineered the P320 around a mass-balanced trigger, sear, and trigger bar, along with a safety cam surface on the trigger bar that actively helps prevent the sear from disengaging the striker during shock, impact, and rough handling. As a result, the P320 does not fire without the trigger being physically actuated.

In short, this trigger does not change that. It adds a mechanical lock on the trigger shoe that must disengage before the trigger can travel rearward. Designed for competition shooters who want that feature, whatever their reason.

What makes the Grayguns P320 Tabbed Trigger different?

Trigger Stall Prevention – Many tabbed triggers suffer from trigger stall, when the trigger shoe is inadvertently actuated before the tab fully clears, the trigger locks mid-pull. Unlike those designs, the Grayguns tabbed trigger is specifically designed to prevent this.

The locking bar geometry allows clean disengagement even when a finger contacts the trigger out of sequence, so the trigger never hangs up under pressure or with an imperfect finger position.

Mass-Balanced Design – Grayguns mass balances both the trigger shoe and the locking tab to mitigate each component’s tendency to rotate on its axis under shock or impact. This is the same engineering discipline applied in the P320’s own factory fire control group.

Flush Tab Profile – The tab is contoured to close flush with the trigger shoe face when depressed, eliminating the gap and snag point common to other locking trigger designs. The result: no sharp edges, no holster interference.

Enclosed Locking Bar Spring – The locking bar spring is fully enclosed, blocking fouling and debris. The locking bar contact surfaces actively support positive reset even in a dirty or heavily used pistol.
