Trigger Fit Guide
The trigger fits both current and older model single-action only P-Series pistols, including:
- P220
- P229
- P226
These triggers are approximately 10mm wide. Therefore, at this time, we are not suggesting this trigger for guns equipped with the older style 8mm wide trigger openings.
This trigger may not be fully compatible with California-compliant or similar P-series pistol models equipped with a magazine disconnector, and Grayguns urges caution. We do not recommend deactivating any mechanical safety device.
This trigger will not fit SIG Pro, P225 / P6, P239, or West German P220s. This is because most of these triggers are a narrower 8mm width.

This is what my P220 10mm SAO was missing. I am one of those men who has long palms and medium length fingers, causing the operation of the standard curved trigger of the Legion 10mm to be just a little long for me to reach well. After adding in this trigger, my finger stays in the same spot every time I operate it, Couldn’t be happier!
Put Grayguns trigger in my sig legion p226 sao and I love it
I just finished up installing this trigger into my new P220 Legion .45 SAO. I have installed the SAO trigger and other Gray Guns triggers into three other P-Series pistols before. All are excellent!
A word of advice: When you install this trigger, you will still have plenty of pre-travel on the trigger pull. Don’t blame the trigger!
I spent quite a while tonight tweaking the pre-travel set screw. For anyone trying to eliminate all take-up and make a twitchy M1911 trigger, you won’t be able to and please don’t try. This has nothing to do with the trigger; there are several internal safeties that leave margins of error to prevent any and all malfunctioning discharges or stoppages of the system. I found that at no set screw setting could I get it so wrong that the pistol would be in a dangerous state – it either works or it does not.
Don’t modify your pistol out of factory specifications! I had several ideas I won’t share about ways I could tweak it some more and I promise any one of them will add me to a negligent discharge statistic! The P-Series pistols are beautifully designed and every last little part is precisely and deliberately crafted for your safety! If one of them won’t play nice with your set screw setting, back it off!
A bit more work than installing a Da/Sa trigger but very much worth it.
The lack of double action means you actually get to take up the single action pretravel. Very nice.
This has a much more comfortable finger angagement than the factory curved I had on. The curved is just awkward. When I go to put my finger on this it just ends up finding the sweet spot where I would often flick the bottom of the lever on the factory curved.
A welcome upgrade.
I hesitated for a while before finally deciding to get this trigger, and I’m so glad I got it! Immediately noticeable is that the face of the trigger is flat as well as being straight (in contrast to the Sig Legion SAO trigger just being straight but having a rounded face) which gives a much more consistent pull straight back with much less tendency to push the sights off target left or right depending on finger position. My groups are almost half the size, and my inconsistency is pretty much gone.
What’s funny is that I originally ordered this to reduce the take up, and that’s nice and as expected, but the biggest benefit is the much more consistent shooting. Would unequivocally recommend, and buy again. Install was a breeze too.
Shipping was immediate from GG, and my shopping experience was flawless to boot!
I installed the GG straight adjustable SAO into my SAO Elite P226 replacing the factory curved trigger. The job was quick and painless, and the results were excellent. I made a slight adjustment to the take up, and left the reset alone (it’s already as good as can be on this particular piece). The feel matches that on my Legion P229. Build quality was outstanding with a strong pin and excellent machining. Super comfortable for rapid fire with no hotspots. I saw a slight improvement in my hammer splits, from .16-18 to .14-16.
I also had outstanding service, with the part arriving in just a few days, and before ordering I got good support from customer service to ensure I was ordering the right part.
I’ve always enjoyed exceptional service from GG and this was no exception.
