Grayguns fat Super Black Guide Rods are available for the P320, P228, P229, P220 and P226. They are manufactured with proper materials, hardened and stress-relieved to withstand a lifetime of hard use. The guide rods are guaranteed for life.
Only our P320-F (Full-Size) guide rod and P320 X-Five (Full Size) include a 15-pound 1911 recoil spring.
Our guide rods for the SIG P220, P226, P229 and P228 work with wire braided and OEM SIG Sauer flat springs. They will not work with aftermarket flat springs.

Grayguns’ fat guide rods are designed to optimally support factory SIG Sauer® and Grayguns custom multi-strand springs* for maximum service life and smooth, reliable function.
Being made to the maximum nominal diameter to fit each pistol perfectly, our fat rods also eliminate the possibility of coil-jumping and damage when used with correctly-selected after-market single-strand recoil springs.

Unlike other, cheaper products, our fat rods are made from proper material, hardened and stress-relieved stainless steel to withstand a lifetime of hard use.

Super Black Guide Rod Fit Guide
Ensure you select the correct variation and read these Fit Guide notes.
- The SIG P320 X-Five version will not work with the P320 XTEN 10mm pistol.
- The SIG P220 barrel length is 4.4″ – as such, these P220 guide rods will not fit the P220 Compact, P220 Carry or P220 Classic 22.
- If you have a SIG P320 XFull size module, you’ll need the Full Size (4.7″) guide rod.
- These will not work with the P320 Spectre Comp, which uses a captured guide rod recoil assembly from the 3.9″ pistols.
Suggested Companion Upgrades or Options
- Our hard-duty recoil spring for the P220 (.45) and the .40 and .357 versions of the P226
- We do have this guide rod available with a classic Stainless Steel finish

Guide rods are not caliber specific. Use the appropriate recoil spring for your caliber.

I ordered a Custom Fat Super Black Guide Rod for my 2013 P220 45 elite scorpion and it is perfect in every way, fit, finish, added weight, fast shipping, and easy web site.
I have these on many different pistols and they are, IMO, much better than the hollow metal guide rods or the captured spring guide rods. Specified type springs fit as they should and the added weight of a solid metal rod up front helps with recoil mitigation. Making great pistols even better.
