Description
Grayguns unique step-tapered design and unmatched surface finish afford easy installation with optimum recoil spring support. Proper spring support ensures maximum spring life and smooth cycling.
Grayguns’ fat guide rods are designed to optimally support factory SIG Sauer® and Grayguns custom multi-strand springs* for maximum service life and smooth, reliable function.
Being made to the maximum nominal diameter to fit each pistol perfectly, our fat rods also eliminate the possibility of coil-jumping and damage when used with correctly-selected after-market single-strand recoil springs.
SIG Stainless Steel Guide Rod Material
Unlike other, cheaper products, our fat rods are made from proper material, hardened and stress-relieved stainless steel to withstand a lifetime of hard use.

I put one in both my P220 West German .45 and my P226rE2 .357 Sig and they improved the balance of the guns with slightly better recoil control. The evident improvement was in hand cycling of the pistols was smoother , Another great Gray Guns product !

This is the second guide rod i purchased. When the package arrived, I assumed I had the right part, but it would not fit the gun. We eventually figured out, that even though I had ordered the proper part, I had received a guide rod for an X model. Chris in customer service took care of things and I just installed the proper rod in the pistol. Works as it should. Thank you!

I had the end of the spring pop out around the stock guide rod one time. The fit of the fat rod took [away] the fear of the happening again. I know that is RARE but it was in the back of my mind. The fat rod and 12# spring make the gun operate smooth and flat.

Perfect fit, some say the stock rod is fine, but this smooths out the slide well. And looks awesome.

First off the install is incredibly easy. I only mention this because I think people are becoming more and more accustomed to the piston style recoil set. When I got on the range you could tell right away the difference in the rate or fire and reduced recoil. I was able to double tap and stay on target. Great addition paired up with the competition trigger I installed as well. The only issue I have had is in disassembly now. I think the size of the rod reduced the amount of space in the receiver. So I now use a tool to take down my P320. Something that is not an issue now but may be something that concerns me if I have to break it down in the field or on the range. However, I have already put a 100 rounds through to test it and have not had a single issue. So this was not an issue worth lowering the rating.

Finish is the best I have ever seen (obviously I have not seen everything, I bought stuff from Wilson’s, Harrison’s, Apex)!! I am not sure about the spring quality since the brand is not stated. I used on sig parts and NO issues moving the slide release lever (Sig slide and barrel), as easy as OEM one if not easier. I have the 9mm version.

Works fantastic, looks very nice.
The only issue I have with this is no matter what slide/barrel/grip module combo I use the takedown lever gets stuck on the oversized guide rod… the only way to rotate the takedown lever is to flip the gun upside down and place the takedown lever on a hard surface and push all my weight down to get it to rotate. GG says this is normal because it’s oversized? I’ve tried so many variations: push up, pull down, wiggle and jiggle, etc. but I can see the takedown lever starting to develop a “worn spot” where it’s being forced to overcome the larger guide rod.

Just received my guide rod for my P320 Sig AXG Pro. Fits and works like I want it to. I have one in all my full size Sig P320’s. You can modify them with different recoil springs.
Thanks Gray Guns for a great product.

The rod fits perfectly and even better fit that the OEM Sig rod. It adds just the right amount of weight to make the gun even better to shoot.

outstanding guide, they are just fat enough to fill up the guide hole in slide to remove that unsightly gap. just long enough past the end of the slide. something sig should have done…
