Practical Fundamentals scheduled for Oct. 23-24 in El Cajon, Calif.

February 13, 2010 by · 1 Comment

Grayguns Inc. is returning to the Project 2000 Range in El Cajon, Calif. in late October for another great shooting opportunity. This year, there is an option for one or two training days. Don’t miss this opportunity … just bring an open mind and be willing to learn.

You can find out a great amount of information concerning GGI’s Practical Fundamentals program in Bruce Gray’s article posted Feb. 1, Grayguns’s Practical Fundamentals: Who is it for?

The course focuses on safe gun handling skills and practical marksmanship. Exposes participants to the fundamentals of a strong firing stance, the proper way to grip and correct alignment of the sights on a semi-automatic pistol. Provides instruction to safely draw a semi-automatic pistol from a holster and manipulate the trigger to make accurate and fast hits on a target. Provides instruction on reloading a semi-automatic pistol as well as transitioning between targets and firing a pistol while moving across the range.

  1. Mike says:

    As quoted from the Sigforum.com

“Well, after another wonderful training day, I’m sore, stiff, and fully aware of the “holes” in my techniques. This was a refresher course for me. It was a great reminder of those areas where I can further improve my techniques, as well as how to implement those improvements. (It’s somewhat amusing how old habit’s, once thought gone, creep their way back in……damnitanyways.) And yes, I picked up some new tools too.

For those on the fence about attending this particular course in the future, if your looking for the stereo typical “High Speed, Low Drag” experience. This is not the course for you. But, if you are looking to lock down good fundamentals, and use those as the basis for more advanced “run and gun” training, then this is the course for you. (IMHO) (By the way I understand Gray Gun’s can provide those “HSLD” classes as well.)

As usual, Bruce, Jerry, and Randy facilitated a great training experience. And many thanks too, to Mayer for hosting and coordinating the event. I think it’s time now for another round of aspirin and a heating pad ………”
